From an Apprentice to Qualified Welder;

As a young school leaver, Jack Wilson made the decision to begin his career with us as a welder and fabricator apprentice.

Over the course of his three-year apprenticeship, Jack demonstrated that he was keen to learn and eager to gain hands-on experience, quickly proving himself as a dedicated member of the team. His commitment was recognised when he successfully completed his apprenticeship with distinction—a proud milestone for both him and the company.

Now four years on with the Watly Engineering team, Jack continues to play an important role in our projects, applying the skills he’s developed since day one. His journey is a great example of how our apprenticeship programme helps talented individuals build long-term, rewarding careers in the engineering industry.

Jack’s Thoughts on His Apprenticeship Journey at Watly Engineering:

“Since starting my apprenticeship at 17, not only have I developed skills to be a welder and fabricator but also as a person. Over the 3-year course, I had guidance from experts in the field to learn and to improve key skills; whilst, learning about the different types of industry’s Watly Engineering caters for.” – Jack Wilson
